The Oktoberfest grounds are free, but the beer tents are packed and closed during prime times. Avoid ruining your trip and make sure you have a beer table. Our advice: no beer table, stay home!
Scarcity of places
And that is becoming scarcer every year. The Oktoberfest in Munich is immensely popular, so an increasingly significant portion of visitors come from outside Europe. If you want to be sure that you can experience Oktoberfest Munich, reserved places are a must! Trying to secure a spot somewhere on your own is impossible. You don’t travel all the way to Munich for the uncertainty of whether you can even join in and party.
Avoid wandering around aimlessly with your travel companions, not getting in anywhere, and… missing the best parties: that would be a waste of your time, effort, and money.
Every year, we receive requests on-site to help travelers who haven’t arranged anything in advance out of a jam. By then it is too late; we can no longer arrange anything for you on the spot: that must be done well in advance!
